World Premiere at Zurich in Switzerland on 2nd June 1937, after Berg`s death. The opera is based on two plays written by Frank Wedekind, called ‘Earth Spirit’ and ‘Pandora`s Box’. This is a Victorian song written by the brother of James Maybrick, which some peoplebelieve to be about Jack the Ripper, therefore adding credence to the ‘Jamesas Jack’ theory.
